Some of the advantages of having a massage in your own home
(for information on types of massages click here)
-
No stress of having to drive through traffic to get to you appointment.
-
Relax in the comfortable and familiar surroundings of your own home.
-
Save time by not having to allow extra time to get to a clinic.
-
Saves you money on petrol and car running costs and parking fees.
-
You get the full benefit of your massage by being able to relax straight after your treatment and not have to eliminate all the great work of your therapist by getting back into your car in a drowsy condition.
How to optimize the benefits of a home massage
Take few minutes to prepare for your massage space and your mind. It will enhance your massage experience.
1. Try to start relaxing and unwinding before the massage appointment.
You can do this by having relaxing music on, taking a shower / bath or do a brief meditation if you like it.
2. Prepare a suitable space for the massage table.
I understand some houses has constricted spaces but if it is possible choose a quite area where you will not be disturbed by other people, children, pets or phone calls (Turn your phone off if it is possible).
3. Make sure temperature of the room is appropriate.
In winter you will cool down significantly during the massage so a comfortably warm room is desirable.
Bear in mind these are only suggestions and in some surroundings some of them are just not viable.
Michelle`s philosophy is to tailor her massage to make you comfortable.

1.Remedial Massage
Remedial massage can be used to treat numerous conditions. If you are suffering from a sore back, stiff neck or tension headaches then a remedial massage may provide you with the relief you require. Remedial massage is a style of healing that works on the muscoskeletal system to release tension that builds up in problematic areas of the body. It breaks down the fibrous and scar tissue, restoring elasticity to the muscles, creating greater mobility within the joints of the body. Increases circulation and improves muscle tone. Releases pain , tension and helps to boost immune system as well.
2.Swedish Massage
The techniques used in Swedish massage are designed to have a relaxing effect. It increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. A whole mind and body experience. A gentle or firm massage is applied for relaxation and pampering. It will melt away your stresses and leave you feeling tranquil and calm.
3. Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage aims to realign body segments. It assists in releasing chronic tension and muscular stress.
Deep Tissue massage works on deep layers and reshapes the connective tissue that surrounds the muscles whilst Remedial massage concentrates on relieving the stresses within the muscles.
The process of the Deep Tissue Massage aims to restructure the muscular system by re-positioning muscles, tendons and ligaments that may have become bunched and shortened. By realigning the body, habitual patterns of tension and stress accumulated by today’s lifestyle may be released. In addition to improved posture, other benefits include pain relief, increased energy and an improved sense of relaxation and wellbeing. It is both corrective and therapeutic.
4. Trigger Point Therapy
There is growing evidence that a lot of our most common aches and pains are actually caused by trigger points. Trigger points are known to cause headaches, neck and jaw pain, low back pain and some other kinds of joint pain which may be mistakenly ascribed to arthritis, tendonitis, etc.
Trigger points usually send their pain to some other site. This is an extremely misleading phenomenon and is the reason conventional treatments for pain so often fail. It’s a mistake to assume that the problem is at the place that hurts!
5. Pregnancy Massage
A massage technique specifically designed for pregnant women to help relieve common pregnancy discomforts and promote mother and baby's wellbeing. Pregnancy massage is very gentle and effective and has many benefits for the mother, such as increasing energy, easing aches and pains, slowing the process of varicose veins, reducing fluid retention and releasing stress.
Please discuss your conditions and expectations about your massage before your first appointment.
